Build your first native mobile application in less than 60 minutes

If you want to quickly build a mobile application and explore the capabilities of our platform, you can simply install the editor and start coding your first "mdsl" file. If you edit a sample file, such as the "kitchen sink" example, you should be on your way under an hour, including watching the tutorials.

Start with a mockup

If you prefer starting from a "mockup" point of view, you will either need Baslamiq or Interface Builder. Both tools can be used to create applications for any platform. (Yes you can use interface builder to create Android layouts with Canappi).

Why did we build Canappi?

Building mobile applications is hard, way too hard. Entrepreneurs and businesses are struggling to bring their great ideas to market.  With Canappi, you create a simple mobile application descriptor in “mdsl”, Canappi's simple programming languages, and it generates most of the code for you, for the entire application stack from the MySQL schema, to the PHP Web APIs to the iPhone and Android mobile clients. How simple is Canappi? We wrote this application for COPD patients in 175 lines of mdsl code or a sample twilio application in 100 lines.

Canappi is a "development hub" that lets you use the best design tools, best libraries, best back-end APIs and the best platforms. Yes, you can use Apple’s Interface Builder to create Android Activities. We don’t lock you in either: all the code we generate is 100% open. Even our connectors for fun Web APIs like Twilio, Twiter, Eventful… are written in mdsl.
